POTW 15 Wakey Wakey

Hello there lovelies

This weeks POTW is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer. This was a total impulse buy a few weeks ago and I must say I’m really impressed. I got this in the shade ivory which is a great shade for me, I’ve found myself pulling this one out of my drawer more often and the more I use it the more I like it. It has really good coverage without being super thick. It feels light on the under eye area and really brightens it whilst concealing dark circles along with concealing redness around the nose really well and covering up blemishes. It has tiny flecks if shimmer when swatched but they don’t show when blended they just brighten the skin and add a subtle hint if radiance. It doesn’t go cakey in the slightest or crease under eyes, it blends beautifully and is such a good product for the price, I really can’t fault this. An impulse buy that I certainly don’t regret.

Have you tried this concealer? What products really impress you?

POTW 14 More Bioderma Brilliance

Hello there lovelies

This weeks Pick Of The Week is this Bioderma Hydrabio Serum. After I wrote a post about Hydraluron it was suggested that I try this serum as I wasn’t too bothered about Hydraluron and as I was already a fan of Bioderma I had to give this a go. I absolutely LOVE this, much more than Hydraluron, I find it really benefits my skin and it’s a much better price than Hydraluron. I’ve been using this pretty much every day and night since I got it well over a month ago and it’s still going strong. Just 2 pumps of this does my whole face easily, it leaves skin feeling silky smooth and provides a great base for makeup. It’s helped with the dryer patches on my face; the light gel has a nice consistency that isn't too watery, it has a lovely light fragrance and is suitable for sensitive skin. It’s an all round great product. I highly recommend this over Hydraluron and it’s the serum I will continue to use, a definite repurchase once this one has been used up.

What’s been your pick of the week?

POTW 13 Scrubbing My Way To Summer Skin

Hello there lovelies

This weeks POTW is the Boots Extracts Cranberry Body Scrub. Now that we’re in May and summer is fast approaching (well hopefully) I thought it was about time I paid a bit more attention to the condition of my skin all over my body and in particular my legs. I’m always looking for products to help me achieve perfectly polished pins so that they look good when exposed in the warmer weather and I find one product that helps is a body scrub. I love this one from Boots mainly because of the smell but unfortunately it’s not available all year round but the almond one is very nice too. I find this one exfoliates really well removing dead skin cells without leaving skin feeling raw or looking red, the scrub particles are contained within a lovely soft rich cream that helps to buffer them some what so they aren’t too harsh. If it was my choice this would be a bit more dense with the particles as I find I have to use quite a lot of product to get a good covering all over but saying that it has definitely made a difference to the condition of my skin since I’ve been using it, I’ve really noticed it on my thighs, which has been the area I’ve been concentrating on, they are much softer and smoother and just generally look more “polished” glowy almost especially when a body butter is used afterwards. As I have to use so much of this it is definitely going to need repurchasing in the next couple of weeks but it’s a really good price for the quality of the product.

What body scrubs do recommend to achieve perfectly polished pins for summer exposure?

POTW 12 Mascara Magic

Hello there lovelies

This weeks POTW is this delight from Boots. Their new No7 Lash Impact mascara that is currently on introductory offer for £10. Now can we just take a moment to admire the lovely Dorothy’s red ruby slipper-esque packaging, I love it, if they’d brought this out around Christmas time could you imagine how many they would have sold. I’ve not had this for long as it’s a new release from Boots but since I got it I’ve been wearing it everyday. It’s a great volumising mascara with zero clumps, it defines each lash really well and is intensely black too. It has a fibre wand which I personally prefer over the plastic ones and it’s quite chunky so you manage to apply a good amount of mascara in a few sweeps, it’s ever so slightly tapered at the end meaning you are able to get right into the corner lashes for optimum mascara application. One coat of mascara gives lovely natural fluttery lashes and extra coats give a more dramatic look but still remains clump free. If this had lengthening properties in it too I think it could just be the ultimate mascara.

Have you done anything good this week? What mascaras do you like?

Apologies

Hello there lovelies

I'm afraid I have no POTW post for you this week. I've had a manic week at work and I'm away with my family this weekend so haven't had time to blog. Normal service will resume with a new post on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Hope you all have a lovely easter and feast out on chocolate.

POTW 11 A Whiter Future

Hello there lovelies.

This weeks Pick Of The Week is the Colgate Max White One Optic. Yes I know toothpaste isn’t really the most exciting thing out there but I’ve been using this for a couple of weeks with surprising results. My mum was actually the one who recommended this to me and as it was on offer for half the price I thought why not. Now I’m a bit of a tea addict therefore I worry about my teeth becoming stained and they already are a bit stained on the backs and as I work in a job where a lot of smiling is required I like my teeth to look good. I’m always quite sceptical about whiting toothpastes, as I’ve never found one that has made a real noticeable difference- until now. This toothpaste has definitely helped make my teeth appear whiter, now I’m not talking Joey Essex white but naturally whiter and it’s even improved the staining on the backs of my teeth as a result of me loving tea more than it’s healthy to. This toothpaste has a grey-ish colour with blue specks in which does look a bit strange, not overly appealing, but once you start brushing it turns a brighter blue which adds to the whitening effect as blue makes teeth appear whiter. It has a refreshing minty taste that doesn’t blow your socks off and leaves teeth feeling like they’ve had a thoroughly good clean. I have sensitive teeth so don’t like the thought of using a whitening toothpaste with harsh abrasives as I wouldn’t want to damage the enamel, the flecks in this aren’t hard, they’re just softs flecks that sort of burst when brushing therefore adding more blue to enhance whiteness and I think this toothpaste actually works. It usually retails at around the £4.49 mark, which is quite a lot for toothpaste, but I think it’s worth it and worth trying if you can get it on offer.

What whitening toothpastes have you tried?
